Three-day writers' camp for Year 6 students who have been identified as talented writers to compose narratives for an anthology of short stories.
Canberra-Goulburn Diocese
Involvement in National Reading Day. Networks of Stages 3-4 teachers to be formed to produce a publication of quality teaching strategies utilising the Project for Enhancing Effective Learning framework. Teachers use strategies within the Literacy Teaching Strategies Handbook to plan and develop programs to meet the needs of individual students.
Maitland-Newcastle Diocese
K-12 Writing Competition in four sections. Students asked to submit a text on the theme of Making a Difference.
Parramatta Diocese
Numeracy web activities. Bee-Bot oral language skills activities with an emphasis on positional and directional language.
Sydney Diocese
Developing schools' literacy collections through purchase of materials that are culturally-sensitive.
Wagga Wagga Diocese
Mathematics Week celebration centred on the topic of Mathematics in the Year of Desert and Desertification - daily problem solving activities; lunchtime activities and competitions. Poster creation contest on Teachers must be in prismed!
Wilcannia Forbes Diocese
Parent workshops on literacy assessment. Literacy and numeracy activities in multi-age classes and with parents. Local community reading and Aboriginal Storytelling. Demonstration lessons on Thrass and Outback Maths. Maths in Context units to be created. Other literacy and numeracy activities involving parents and the community. Promotion of Parent Library.
Wollongong Diocese
Diocesan Writing competition. Primary and secondary schools' involvement in National Reading Day. Competition incorporating planning and programming literacy and numeracy activities: Win an Author Visit.
