March 2005
For 2005 there is a revised format for the school's application form for a literacy or numeracy achievement award. It offers in red font various prompts for responses to the criteria along with textboxes for the actual responses. Schools are asked to delete the red prompts once their application form has been completed.
The Federal Education Minister, Dr Brendan Nelson will be sending a direct mailout to schools this month with information regarding NLNW. All schools participating in the awards selection will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Schools applying for an award should remember that the committee assessing the awards will be looking for quality submissions as this is a national initiative.
On Monday 29 August 2005, the Minister, the Hon Carmel Tebbutt MLC will present the Awards to school representatives. Details of the ceremony will be in following updates.
