A successful literacy idea - Auburn West Public School

To celebrate NLNW, Auburn West Public School has organised two author visits. The author visits are supported and enhanced by the creation of window displays based on an author or book that the students have read.

On the day, the students and teachers are encouraged to dress up as a fictional character to raise money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

In addition, AWPS will open their classrooms for parents to become involved in a literacy or numeracy lesson and become engaged in their child’s learning.

Lastly, the school will be are hosting a whole school assembly where two students from each class will receive a Literacy or Numeracy Award. This assembly highlights the importance of NLNW to our school and its wider community.


A successful literacy idea - Clarke Road School

Clarke Road School will be holding a Literacy Day on Monday 27 August 2012.

Students will be asked to bring in their favourite book, talking book, CD or DVD to share with the classes.

Community members will be invited to read, listen or watch their favourite book, CD or DVD.

The staff at Clarke Road School will be presenting a Readers’ theatre for the seniors and a puppet show for the juniors for all to share.
